Solar Panel Cleaning

Purified water and soft brushes across every panel. No chemicals, no high pressure, and a streak-free finish on rooftops from South Park to Point Loma.

Chapter 01

What a dirty panel costs you

A solar panel only makes power from the light that reaches the cells. Dust, bird droppings, pollen and the thin film that settles on glass all sit between the sun and the cells, and on a San Diego roof they build up quietly until the production numbers slip and nobody can say why.

Our own estimate is that dirty panels can lose up to 25% of their output. That is our own claim, not a lab result, and the real loss on your roof depends on how long the glass has gone untouched.

The wrong cleaning makes it worse. A garden hose and tap water leave mineral spots, a household detergent leaves a film, and a pressure wand has no business near panel glass. Coastal roofs in Point Loma and Pacific Beach sit in salt air, and a quick rinse is not the same job as a proper cleaning.

Purified water, soft brushes, nothing else

The crew cleans solar panels with purified water and soft brushes. No chemicals go on the glass and no high pressure goes near it. Purified water dries without leaving mineral spots, which is why the glass finishes streak-free instead of speckled.

Josh is on most jobs. The brush loosens what is stuck, the purified water carries it off, and the panel is left clear edge to edge. The same approach works on a single pitched roof in Golden Hill or a long array on a North Park garage.

Because no chemicals are used, there is nothing harsh to rinse off the roof afterward.

Chapter 03

A close look while we are up there

Cleaning puts a person within arm's reach of every panel, which is the best time to notice a cracked cell, a loose edge or a clogged corner. Spotting potential issues early is part of the visit, not an add-on.

Panels get dirty again, so a good cleaning schedule is a habit. One customer put it this way in her Google review: “He calls me when it’s time to clean out solar panels.” That call is the aftercare. Call (619) 887-4442 or send the quote form, and Josh will write up the job for free before anyone climbs a ladder.

From a neighbor, on Google

“…solar panels are running perfectly because of the care he gives them. He calls me when it’s time to clean out solar panels.” Christine Pemberton, Google review.
